Blending orchestral, electronic and plant-synthesized sounds
for a contemporary celebration of the planet.
Electric Earth Orchestra mixes classic orchestral textures with sounds generated by plants through self-built data sonification devices, to bring their unheard, constant activity and soul into music.
The plants play an essential role since they are responsible of all the soundscapes. They are indeed part of the electronic section of the orchestra connected to analog and digital synthesisers. One of the virtual instruments they are connected to (Virtual Fauna) has been developed specially for this purpose. Electronic and orchestral music meet together for a contemporary sonic celebration of the planet and to arise awareness about the unheard universe that surrounds us. Electric Earth Orchestra was founded in June 2023, led by London-based composer Danilo Ricci, the EEO collaborates also with visual artists. Check out the work by British visual artist Beth Walker created for the Electric Earth Orchestra's gig at Barbican Centre (Milton Court Concert Hall) on the 28.06.2023 in the teaser below. |
